The UK moth population is decreasing fast!

We need to know more about moths. Recent research has shown that two thirds of ‘common’ larger moths species are declining and the total abundance of moths has declined by 44% in southern Britain since the late 1960s. We do not have an accurate picture of the changing status of many other species.

Butterfly Conservation has developed the Moths Count project in consultation with moth recorders, local groups and conservation organisations.

Butterfly Conservation is the charity successfully taking action to halt the decline of moths in Britain. We can make a difference but we need your help!
