2010 has got off to a great start for the National Moth Recording Scheme with data from 100 Vice-counties now in.

The first data set (for Hertfordshire and Middlesex) was imported into the new scheme's database at Christmas 2007. Now, just two years on, the National Moth Recording Scheme has data from 100 Vice-counties (with the total number of records creeping towards 8 million). A great achievement by all of the County Moth Recorders and moth-ers involved!

The 100th county data set was from East Perth (VC89), collated and submitted by County Moth Recorder John Thorpe. It comprised approximately 25,000 records and brought a Happy New Year to us all at the Moths Count project.

Happy New Year to you and we hope you have a successful moth recording year in 2010!
